The Flag

 

 

The flag of Lelu is a living symbol of heritage, unity, and identity. Its blue background reflects the surrounding ocean waters, reminding us that the island is embraced and sustained by the sea. At the center rests the whale emblem, recalling the ancient legend that Lelu itself was formed by a whale, a story that ties the land to both creation and resilience. Encircling the emblem are six stars, each representing one of the six hamlets of Lelu, shining as a constellation of community and shared destiny.
 

The design is completed with a wreath, a timeless emblem of honor, unity, and continuity. Across cultures, wreaths symbolize victory, peace, and eternal life, and in the context of Lelu, it represents the enduring bond of its people—ever connected, ever resilient, and ever striving together.
